Erik Kramer’s songs and music are a fusion of many influences including psychedelic, folk, jazz, funk, world music, rock n' roll, and soul. Live performances have the vibe of a jazz combo. He performs his original music under the moniker of ‘Erik Kramer and Friends’. The band consists of a rotating cast of excellent musicians. Best known for his bass guitar playing, he also performs on many other instruments including guitar, lap steel guitar, double-bass, keyboards, drums, percussion, and vocals. At Office Ours on Knox he records and produces music for other artists. He also puts together cover bands and jazz ensembles for special occasions. Artists that he currenty performs with include ‘Uprooted’ (featuring Michael Glabicki of ‘Rusted Root’);‘ Tubey Frank’; ‘Minka’; Sug Daniels; Mariee Siou; Katie Henry; Donnie CoCo; Rachel Andie; ‘Rosemeat’; and Sovei. He performs as a session player and sideman with many other artists. He got his musical start at Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz Educational program. He is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Governor’s School of the Arts, and the Berklee College of Music.
